While shopping for the best new outfits and all the hustle and bustle that we thought was reserved just for k-12, there is still stress when starting a new year of college.
One of my favorite parts of a new school year is a chance for a fresh new start. The adrenaline of the new school year is an amazing opportunity to reflect on yout past year (if you’re not a freshmen), see if you’ve accomplished what you expected, and re-assess your goals.
These are “the best years of your life” they say, and if that’s true, it will actually take some thoughtful planning. Here are some of my top links to ensuring the next year at college is filled with LESS STRESS and MORE HAPPINESS:
- Start the year right prepared. Having everything you need before the first few weeks is one thing we take for granted and don’t really thinking about that much, unless, of course, we aren’t quite so prepared… Check out this list by Marjorie Hansen Shaevitz, The Most Outrageously Thorough, Ridiculously Detailed College Shopping List You Will Ever See
- Part of decreased stress and increased happiness is convenience. If you have your smartphone handy, this list of 25 Apps You’ll Need to Survive College by Mashable has some of the best apps that add little conveniences here and there for you, as well as big ones.
- Of course you’ve heard about the Freshman 15. Of course you’re not intending to be “one of them” who will acquire said Freshman 15. But, do you have a plan for healthy diet? A healthy diet is a no-brainer for reduced anxiety. An oldie but goodie, check out NerdFitness’ College Guide to Eating Healthy
