Stress can be a result of the huge workload from school, work, maintaining relationships and many more. There are many stress related diseases some include tension headache, asthma, fatigue and many more.
Here are helpful tips to manage stress.
Exercising three to four times a week will help your muscles relax, your brain will be fresh and your body will be energized. This gives you a chance to concentrate better and some serious endorphines will be released.
Have a diary: it will help you keep updated on upcoming projects,exams ,papers and you will avoid the stress that builds up due to procrastination during finals week.
Sleep: at least 7 hours of sleep a day.Most times people get stressed because their bodies lack enough rest.Just taking a 30 minute nap before you start on your homework makes a huge difference.
Talk to somebody: It can be a friend,family member just to let them know how you are doing.This a good way to vent out your challenges.
Take time off and engage yourself in an activity that you love. For example play your favorite sport,watch a movie,go out with friends.You will definitely feel relieved.
Nutrition: Have a balanced diet and drink lots of water to keep you body hydrated.
Have time alone: This will help you reflect on your day,week and you will be able to map out what you want to do and have a clear mind.
Keep positive: What you think about influences how you will feel so brighten up and say i know this is difficult but i am going to make it work.
Campus services: There are many resources and information that you can utilize on campus so put it to use.For example schedule an appointment with a counselor.
Stress will slow your day down and demotivate you so the best thing to do is to try the above as you continue to discover what works best for you.
