Mission: To equip young adults with tools and community to advance emotional wellness.
Vision: Comfort and certainty at every young adults’ fingertips.
Anxiety In Teens, a 501(c)3 non-profit, was founded in 2006 in Minneapolis, MN. Founder Solome Tibebu dealt with a severe anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder throughout middle school and high school, feeling alone and frustrated. After realizing that there was no immediate resource for education on what she was going through, she created AnxietyInTeens.org while a sophomore in high school at Eden Prairie High School. Today, Anxiety In Teens serves as a resource for youth and young adults with anxiety and other mental health disorders and their families. AiT Contributors are part of a nationwide community to help youth and help one another through media and youth-led peer support groups.
History
Through the partnership with the Learning Through Service (LTS) program first launched at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, young adults are developing empathy skills while making a difference in youth lives through Anxiety In Teens. The LTS fellows recognize that their own mental health experiences and their knowledge of social media tools and project management skills merge to provide a genuine opportunity to serve others.
For Youth, By Youth
Anxiety In Teens is the place where teens, college students, and parents can find all things Millennial and Gen Z mental health. The psycho-educational articles, videos and interviews our young adult contributors create to serve to encourage and support our teen and parent audiences on their path to mental wellness.
Our LTS fellows are not just writers, they are courageous young adults who take part in a rigorous, self-reflective experience throughout their tenure with Anxiety In Teens. Our LTS fellows are young people with unique experiences and important stories to share with our audiences. Learn more.
